Running a business in Manchester? Here’s where to get your morning pick-me-up!
- On September 18, 2017
If you’re running a business in the Manchester area, it pays to know where the best coffee is! Fortunately, Manchester’s city centre is becoming more and more locally focused, so you’re not limited to the big high-street names anymore. (Just another thing to love about our great city.)
With that in mind, here are some of Manchester’s best independent coffee houses:
North Tea Power
There’s nothing better than a good pun, so this café’s name puts it in our good books straight away. They serve up a number of great snacks if you’re hungry whilst heading into the office, and their use of beans is very artisanal: as well as using London’s own Square Mile beans, they also bring in guest beans. A great place to get your early morning pick-me-up.
Fig and Sparrow
Ever wondered what would happen if you mixed a coffee shop up with a homewares department? Well, wonder no more! Fig and Sparrow serves up a big range of coffee and tea (bigger than the smallish bar might suggest). They’ve also got an impressive menu of breakfasts, cake and lunches. We’d definitely recommend the flat whites.
Barbecue
Ignore the name: you won’t find burgers and sausages here. Set up by a local roaster – Passion Fruit – Barbecue Coffee House serves up some of the best espressos in the city. They also do a range of great cold brews which are ideal for when the weather heats up, and their cakes are cracking. All of their coffee is roasted in-house, too, so if you time things right you can end up with coffee that’s about as fresh as it’s possible to be.
Grindsmith
You can grab Grindsmith coffee from a couple of places in the city centre, with their Deansgate shop offering a bit more space for a healthy lunch. Their beans are local – from Heart and Graft’s roaster – and all of the bread used in their food comes from Trove and Barbakan, who’re both also local. Whatever the business day is going to throw at you, a good breakfast and coffee at Grindsmith will set you up for the rest of the day.
